Mauritshuis, Willemstad

Wedding Venues in the Municipality of Moerdijk

Willemstad is a fortified town on the Hollands Diep. It’s safely situated on the waterfront, nestled among greenery, and steeped in history. You simply have to visit to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy yourself.

The Mauritshuis: a meeting place, information center, backdrop, or base of operations

One of Willemstad’s most beautiful landmarks is the Mauritshuis, a nationally designated historic monument. This stately building serves as a meeting place, an information center, and a venue for your wedding or civil partnership—or as a starting point for your walking or cycling tour. Are you looking for a unique meeting place? Are you organizing a workshop? Do you want to delve into the turbulent history of Willemstad? Or do you simply want to see the Mauritshuis? It’s all possible here.

Celebrate your wedding or civil partnership in this tastefully restored, romantic building. Stroll through the picturesque streets to one of the restaurants or take a walk along the waterfront. Have your photo taken at a beautiful street corner, along the waterfront, or near the charming Mauritshuis. How did three carpenters stop 8,000 French soldiers on the warpath? What is the connection between the House of Orange and the Mauritshuis? How did Willemstad get its unique star shape? Experience these stories in the Canon Room at the Mauritshuis. Soak up the friendly atmosphere of Willemstad and enjoy yourself.
