The Environmental Agency processes and evaluates reports and applications for permits to discharge wastewater into the public sewer system.

The environmental agency is responsible for handling reports and permits and also oversees these matters. In practice, this means that the OMWB monitors and analyzes the quality and quantity of wastewater, including by taking samples.
