Minor asphalt maintenance work
The municipality of Moerdijk has approximately 380 kilometers of paved roads. This accounts for about 47% of all paved surfaces. To keep the roads safe and in good condition, we perform maintenance every year.
On behalf of the municipality, contractor Versluys & Zoon B.V. will begin performing maintenance on various asphalt roads within the municipality starting July 1, 2026.
The work will not take place immediately one after the other. Therefore, we cannot provide an exact schedule. The weather also affects the work.
How does this make you feel?
To ensure that the work is carried out safely and quickly, we sometimes temporarily close a road to through motor vehicle traffic.
Do you live on a road where construction is taking place? If so, we’ll do our best to ensure you can reach your home by car as easily as possible. If a road is closed, traffic controllers will redirect traffic and keep you informed about the situation.
The work usually takes no longer than four hours per location. During this time, you may experience temporary inconveniences, such as construction traffic or the loading and unloading of equipment. We will do our best to minimize any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
Work on July 23 and 24
On Thursday, July 23, and Friday, July 24, we will be performing maintenance on the sidewalks in the park near Verlaatstraat in Klundert. During this work, the sidewalk will be temporarily closed to traffic.
Continuation of the work
We will be conducting additional maintenance work in July and August. We expect to remove the cobblestones from the asphalt at several locations during the week of July 6. After that, we will begin applying the base course and intermediate course.
We will apply the surface course (the top layer you drive on) on Monday, August 24, Tuesday, August 25, and Wednesday, August 26.
