Work on the Moerdijk Bridge

Contractor KWS is carrying out maintenance on the Moerdijk Bridge on behalf of Rijkswaterstaat. This is the bridge that carries the A16 over the Hollands Diep. You can read more about this project on this work page.

What's going to happen?

This involves maintenance on the section of the roadway that runs from Moerdijk toward Dordrecht. To do this, KWS will close the right lane and the shoulder.

Planning

The work will begin on Tuesday, July 21, at 9:00 p.m. and will continue through August 3 at 5:00 a.m.

How does this make you feel?

During the work, the right lane and the emergency lane will be closed. The bridge will therefore remain open to traffic.

However, Rijkswaterstaat expects that traffic congestion may occur due to construction work on nearby highways and the closure of a lane on the Moerdijk Bridge. You should therefore expect delays of 30 to 60 minutes.

Additional traffic disruptions in the region

In addition to the work on the Moerdijk Bridge, construction is also underway on the Papendrecht Bridge and around the new access road to Moerdijk Logistics Park (LPM). This may lead to increased traffic and longer travel times, especially during rush hour.
