Music Education Grant

Parents or guardians of children up to age 18 and young adults aged 18 through 21 may submit a grant application for music education.

Information for Applicants

The regulations were revised effective August 1, 2025. You can find them on the Overheid.nl website. The academic year runs from August 1 through July 31. Invoices for the relevant academic year may only be submitted during that academic year.

Please note! When submitting your grant application, you must immediately attach the invoice(s) from the music teacher for the entire current academic year in digital format. If the music teacher is not yet registered with the municipality, you cannot submit an application (yet).

The application form is intended for submitting a request for a municipal grant for instrumental or vocal music instruction for children and youth ages 0 through 21. This does not include lessons in dance, musical theater, or visual arts.

After submitting your application, you can track its status online via My Moerdijk.

Information for Music Teachers

As a music teacher working in the municipality of Moerdijk, you must register so that your students’ parents or guardians can easily apply for a subsidy. To do so, we need the following information from you:

  • A professional conservatory diploma or equivalent diploma. This refers to a diploma (or diplomas) for the instrument in which music instruction is provided, including a teaching certification for higher professional education (HBO). In case of doubt regarding suitability, the municipality of Moerdijk will consult Kunstloc;
  • The Chamber of Commerce number;
  • A Certificate of Good Conduct. When you register with the municipality for the first time, we must receive a Certificate of Good Conduct that is no more than 2 months old. From then on, a new Certificate of Good Conduct must be submitted every 3 years. You do not need to take any action yourself. The municipality will let you know when a new Certificate of Good Conduct needs to be requested. This Certificate of Good Conduct is available digitally on the Dienst Justis website.

Haven't registered yet? Send an email to vrijwilligeinzet@moerdijk.nl so we can start the process of applying for a VOG. Once we've received your VOG, your name will be published in the list of music teachers.

Please note: The municipality of Moerdijk must have your Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) on file before a grant application can be processed.
