Request for Information from the Basic Registration of Persons (BRP)
In addition to yourself, others can also obtain information about you from the personal data section of the Basic Register of Persons (BRP).
If an agency has received authorization from the Minister of the Interior, the provision of information will be largely automated and will take place within established frameworks.
Businesses and Individuals
- As an individual or on behalf of your company, you may submit a written request to the municipality for information about individuals listed in the population registry. You must provide a reason for your request.
- In principle, any information provided includes only a few standard details, such as: name, date of birth, address, city of residence, and, if applicable, date of death.
- Information regarding individuals who have requested that the municipality keep their personal data confidential will not be disclosed.
- Personal information is not provided over the phone.
- If your request is denied, you may file an objection under the General Administrative Law Act. You must submit your objection to the mayor and aldermen of the municipality within 6 weeks. See the “Objections and Appeals” page.

Please email your request on official letterhead to info@moerdijk.nl. In your request, you must specify why you need the information.
In writing
You can prepare a written request and send it to the municipality. In your request, you must explain why you need the information.

Terms and Conditions
Your personal data is included in the Basic Registration of Persons (BRP). This includes information about your name, address, place of residence, marital status, and nationality. The municipality handles this information with the utmost care. The disclosure of this information to others is subject to strict rules.
- In some cases, the municipality is required to provide information, for example, to the national government, the Ministry of Justice, the Social Insurance Bank (SVB), and the Tax Authority.
- The municipality is required to provide information for the purpose of carrying out certain statutory duties, for example, to attorneys, bailiffs, and notaries.
- The municipality must provide data to institutions designated by the Minister of the Interior, such as pension funds, insurance companies, hospitals, and banks.
- In the BRP Regulation, the municipality has specified to which private individuals and non-commercial institutions—such as libraries, schools, senior citizen organizations, and advocacy groups—it provides data.
Costs
- €8.25 per inquiry
- If the archive needs to be consulted, the fee is €27.45 for every quarter of an hour spent on it.
- Free of charge: when information is requested pursuant to legislation or by an agency specifically designated to access data from the BRP.
