More about Moerdijk
The village of Moerdijk is one of the eleven villages and towns in the municipality of Moerdijk. Its 1,150 residents together make it a lively village with a warm, close-knit atmosphere. The village’s future has long been overshadowed by discussions about the nearby seaport and industrial area. In 2013, a survey revealed that while a large proportion of residents enjoyed living in the village, they had little confidence in its future. With a substantial package of quality-of-life measures, including the Moerdijk Scheme, the municipality of Moerdijk, the Province of North Brabant, and the Moerdijk Port Authority are working together with residents to restore that confidence. Work is in full swing, and a renewed sense of vitality is emerging through enthusiasm and new initiatives. We believe in the village of Moerdijk—a village where life is good. Now and in the future, for both current and future residents.
