Agenda Items
Opening and Announcements
Opening
The chairperson opened the meeting at 7:30 p.m. We were pleased with the large turnout—approximately 35 people, including the presenters.
Adoption of the Agenda
Question: Sponsorship request? Forward to the Treasurer.
Presentations
Sound
A presentation will be given and shared afterward. Following the presentation, a question was raised regarding the openings beneath the noise barriers near the railroad tracks. The municipality will inquire about this with ProRail. It was asked whether, in addition to the theoretical approach, actual measurements can also be taken.
The village council asks the Environmental Manager what measurement options are available. This question will be explored in more detail later. Question: Why isn’t drilling being done during the construction of LPM? This question will be submitted to the municipality at a later date.
Air Quality
A presentation will be given and shared afterward. A question was raised as to whether PM2.5 measurements are also being taken in addition to PM10 measurements. This does not appear to be the case.
Housing
The presentation will be given and shared afterward
Question: Trees are being cut down. Which ones exactly?
And are the hedgehogs in the area being taken into account?
Response from the municipality: Yes, as much as possible. Trees will be replanted once the area is ready for residential use.
Will one parking space be eliminated on Spoorenbergstraat? The answer is yes.
Vattenfall is installing one charging station.
There are 34 parking spaces available.
The new street will become a two-way street. How does this relate to the one-way Frisostraat? This is being investigated.
Pavement Tile Request
The presentation will be given and shared afterward.
Minutes of the Previous Meeting
Adopted
Destination: Church
A real estate developer had a plan. Due to mandated studies and additional costs, it is considered unlikely that this plan will move forward.
Given this impasse, it is proposed that the Village Council and the Church Board invite the alderman to a meeting.
Quality of Life Vision
Last week, a kickoff meeting was held with Twynstra and Gudde. They are looking for various times and locations to gather information from residents about the quality of life in the neighborhood. Twynstra and Gudde’s involvement is viewed positively. A time is being sought to hold a meeting with residents. Perhaps the Cantzoni New Year’s concert on January 14 could be used for this purpose; this will be discussed further. Twynstra and Gudde will also be present at the Christmas market. The core team meets every 14 days. The vision statement will be finalized in mid-April.
Action Items (List)
Traffic: Little progress has been made due to a lack of capacity at the municipality. Once traffic engineering capacity has been expanded, the project will continue. Measurements were taken at five locations, and these are being discussed with the municipality. No measurements were taken on Vlijt Street; residents there view this as a shortcoming and have requested that future efforts include Vlijt Street. Further discussions are underway regarding the traffic situation.
Any Other Business and Closing Remarks
What's the status of the MFA?
The bidding process has begun, and five prospective contractors have been selected by lottery from approximately 10 bids. The permit application deadline has been extended; this is not unusual for projects of this scale. Barring any further delays, construction will begin in early 2026.
What's the latest on the Westelijke Parallelweg?
Coincides with the LMP traffic plans. During the village meeting in January, LPM/the port authority will be invited to provide an update on the current status.
Cut-through traffic—can't we install a camera system?
This was discussed in the working group. The group is actively working with the municipality to find solutions.
What should we do about our criticism of the air quality and noise levels, as well as the presentation?
The village council will bring this matter to the attention of the alderman
What is the current status of the LPM's implementation?
At the next meeting, LPM/the Port Authority will be invited to provide an update on the current status.
What will LPM do about violations??
The port authority is not responsible for enforcement; that is the responsibility of the police. Agreements have been made with established businesses to prevent disturbances and violations. Housing is a key area of concern. Addition from the municipality: Conditions regarding housing will be included in the permit. The appointment of a separate special enforcement officer (BOA) to address this issue is being considered.
Millstone
Is this going to be demolished, or are there plans for it? The plan is to build apartments there, but a permit hasn't been applied for yet.
The Watchtower
It has opened, but is seen as a missed opportunity and a waste of money.
Streetlights along Gelderseweg and Achterdijk
It no longer works, but there's no number on it. This can be reported based on location.
Statue of the Virgin Mary
Outstanding Issues. The project appears to be nearing completion without the outstanding defects having been resolved. Communication with the municipality is perceived as difficult. The municipality has indicated that it will hold consultations regarding the outstanding issues. A booklet has been published; copies are available at the Goude Leeuw. A request has been made to see if copies can also be placed at the Zevensprong.
The ever-increasing traffic on Olavstraat
It starts early in the morning and goes on all day long. We can’t really sleep with the window open anymore. Lots of minivans and delivery trucks—including those from UPS and Tranzcare
—that are still trying to make up for lost time on Olavstraat. The weeds in the flower beds along Bloemendaalse Zeedijk. A woman from the city claimed this was necessary because of root weeds that had been growing there, but the way it looks now is an eyesore. The sightlines are obstructed and pose a hazard. The city will look into this via the reporting hotline.
The chairperson adjourns the meeting.
