Why is this work being done?
These works constitute the second phase of the maintenance project that Rijkswaterstaat began in the summer of 2025. The A58 will be repaved in both directions between Roosendaal and Etten-Leur. The pavement on various on- and off-ramps will also be replaced. In addition, maintenance and repairs will be carried out on the shoulders and guardrails.
This major maintenance project will ensure that the A58 remains safe and reliable and that traffic can continue to flow smoothly for years to come. Rijkswaterstaat deliberately carries out the work during the summer as much as possible, because traffic is lighter then and the disruption to road users is kept to a minimum.
