City Council Adopts the Moerdijk Plan 2025
On October 28, 2025, the Moerdijk Municipal Executive adopted the amended Moerdijk Regulation 2025. This regulation provides homeowners in the village of Moerdijk with certainty in light of the developments surrounding Powerport.
The Powerport development is having an impact on the municipality and its residents and is causing uncertainty. To provide more certainty to homeowners in the village of Moerdijk, new agreements have been reached regarding the Moerdijk Arrangement.
Key Changes to the Moerdijk Regulation 2025
- Restoration of indexation: Starting January 1, 2023, increases in home values will once again be factored into the purchase price. The indexation is based on the average change in value of comparable home types in the province of North Brabant.
- Expansion of the target group: Homes that were not appraised in 2015 or that have since changed from rental properties to owner-occupied homes are now also covered by the program. Owners of these homes can apply for an appraisal.
The municipality will continue to purchase up to 25 homes annually. Applications for the program must be submitted by December 1 at the latest. If there are more than 25 applications by December 1, a lottery will be held. If there are fewer than 25 applications at that time, the deadline will be extended only for this year, through December 31. If there are more than 25 applications as of January 1, 2026, a lottery will be held, but only for homes registered after December 1.
Temporary Regulation
The Moerdijk Regulation 2025 is a temporary regulation and will remain in effect until final agreements have been reached regarding the Powerport area and the village of Moerdijk’s role within it. The regulation takes effect on the day following its publication, with retroactive effect as of June 11, 2025. For homes registered between June 11 and July 1, 2025, the missed indexation will still be paid out after December 1.
Information Session on November 5
On Wednesday, November 5, the municipality will hold an informational meeting at De Ankerkuil in Moerdijk. The doors open at 8:00 p.m., and the presentation begins at 8:15 p.m.
