Provide Feedback on the Research Plan for an Underground Hydrogen Network
The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy (EZK) and Hynetwork Services are developing a nationwide hydrogen network. Part of this is the hydrogen network in the southwestern Netherlands. This will enable industry in this region to become more sustainable through the use of hydrogen. In the municipality of Moerdijk, the project involves converting existing natural gas pipelines located within the existing pipeline corridor. You can now submit your comments on the study proposal.
The permitting process began in March and is now moving on to the next phase. In this phase, the research proposal—the “draft Scope and Level of Detail Memorandum” (NRD)—will be presented. This document outlines what Hynetwork Services will investigate, how they will do so, and the level of detail involved. You can view the draft version of the NRD on the website of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency. You have until December 14 to submit your comments. Based on these comments, the plan will be revised and republished. After that, the studies will begin.
Drop-in Sessions
You can share your questions, suggestions, or concerns directly with the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy and Hynetwork Services, including at public information sessions. Since little to no disruption is expected in our municipality, no meeting will be held here. It was decided to hold two evenings in a region where new pipelines are being laid, as that is where the most disruption is expected during construction. The drop-in meetings will take place on:
- Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at De Stenge, Stengeplein 1, 4451 CZ Heinkenszand.
- Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at the CO3 Campus, Zeelandlaan 2, 4538 CA Terneuzen.
