Regulation on Reimbursement of Unrecoverable Expenses for Moerdijk Residents
In recent weeks, it has become apparent that some Moerdijk residents incurred expenses that they would not have incurred had they known earlier about the Powerport news from November 11, 2025. The municipality of Moerdijk has now established a program to address this situation.
With this program, the municipality aims to compensate residents affected by the “Powerport—East” plan who incurred expenses shortly before the November 11 announcement—expenses they would not have incurred had they known earlier about the municipality’s position on Powerport. The compensation is capped at €5,000 per household.
Leniency Program
This is a leniency program for expenses incurred recently. The program therefore applies to:
- expenses incurred during the last quarter of 2025 through the date of the announcement (October 1 through November 11);
- expenses for which the order was placed on or before November 11, 2025, and which demonstrably could not (or could only partially) be canceled.
Examples are included in the letterthat is sent to all addresses eligible for the program.

All the terms and conditions of the program are listed on the “Reimbursement for Unrecoverable Expenses” page. Anyone who meets the eligibility requirements can apply for the reimbursement immediately using the form on the website. Applications will be accepted through February 16, 2026.
Moerdijk Project
There are many situations in which someone may have incurred expenses that are not covered by the plan. The Moerdijk municipality’s commitment regarding the June 2026 decision is that, if Powerport is established in Moerdijk, every resident and (agricultural) business owner will receive fair and generous compensation. You can read more about this on the “Moerdijk Municipality’s Commitment” page.
