Removal of memorial stones from the Klundert and Zevenbergen cemeteries

During the week of May 18–22, 2026, the headstones from 29 graves at the municipal cemetery in Klundert will be removed.

At the municipal cemetery in Zevenbergen, the headstones from 26 graves will be removed.

The municipality is permitted to remove these stones because they have become the property of the municipality. They are gravestones from graves for which the rightful owner has relinquished the burial rights or for which the burial rights have reverted to the municipality because there is no longer a rightful owner.

The work will be carried out by GT Begraafplaatstechniek. The gravestones will be removed and destroyed. Depending on weather conditions, the work will take one or two days.
