Vier Hoog Zevenbergen is closing its doors: a deliberate farewell, a new beginning for Zevenbergen

The municipality of Moerdijk and Vier Hoog Zevenbergen have reached an agreement regarding the purchase of the properties in the station area. As a result, Vier Hoog Zevenbergen will make way for the new Stationshart van Zevenbergen as of August 30, 2026. This is not a forced departure, but a careful and collaborative process supported by both parties.

On June 26, 2025, the city council adopted the Zevenbergen Station Area Vision. In the coming years, the area around the station will be transformed into an attractive public gathering place: the Stationshart. It will feature a safe underpass for pedestrians and cyclists, a new plaza near the station, and improved connections between bicycles, trains, buses, and shared transportation.

Vier Hoog Zevenbergen: “Proud of what we’ve built”

For many years, Vier Hoog Zevenbergen has been a place where people gather. From children’s parties and company outings to bowling nights with friends or a nice dinner: many residents, visitors, and business owners have fond memories of the venue.

“Zevenbergen has given us so much. We’re not closing because we have to, but because, together with the municipality, we see an opportunity for something new. We’re moving forward with pride and our eyes set on the future, but with the awareness that we’re immensely grateful to the guests who have visited us over the years and, above all, to all our colleagues who have worked alongside us all these years.”- Danny Polak, co-owner of Vier Hoog Leisure Group.

Focus on Employees

The closure will affect the people who work at Vier Hoog Zevenbergen every day. Vier Hoog Zevenbergen and the municipality of Moerdijk take this responsibility seriously. Vier Hoog Zevenbergen is actively helping employees transition to their next step, whether within or outside the organization. The municipality is working closely with them and, where possible, connecting employees with organizations that can assist them in finding other work.

Councilmember Danny Dingemans: “With the purchase of these properties, we are taking an important step toward the new Zevenbergen Station District. At the same time, we realize that the closure has a significant impact on the people who work there. That is why we believe it is important that this process be handled with care and that attention be paid to the employees.”
