Work on Hazeldonkse Zandweg and Afgebrande Hoef Starting August 31

On Monday, August 31, 2026, the Municipality of Moerdijk and BAM Infra will begin work on Hazeldonkse Zandweg and Afgebrande Hoef in Zevenbergen. The work will continue through December 31, 2026. During the work, sections of the roads will be closed. Traffic will be rerouted.

The work is necessary for the development of the Zevenbergen-Oost area. In addition, work is underway on the new construction road, Verlengde Zuidrand. At the same time, cables and utility lines are being upgraded. By carrying out this work simultaneously, the project will be completed more quickly.

Hazeldonk Sand Road

From August 31 through November 13, a section of Hazeldonkse Zandweg will be closed to motorized traffic. This section runs from the bridge over the Zwanengat to the roundabout at Hazeldonkse Zandweg 34. It is approximately 300 meters long.

Detours

  • Traffic heading toward downtown Zevenbergen should take the Oostrand (N389) and Prins Hendrikstraat.
  • Traffic heading toward Etten-Leur should take Prins Hendrikstraat and Oostrand (N389).

Cyclists and pedestrians can continue to use Hazeldonkse Zandweg.

Burnt-Down Hoef

From August 31 through December 31, 2026, Afgebrande Hoef will be closed to all traffic. The current road will be removed. Afterward, the new construction road, Verlengde Zuidrand, will be built here. Traffic heading toward Markdijk will be rerouted via Prins Hendrikstraat, Kristallaan, and Generaal Allenweg.
