Helwijk – Natural Gas-Free

What's coming up?

The goal of this project is to make the Helwijk neighborhood natural gas-free. This means that all homes in the neighborhood must switch to an alternative heat source.

The goal of this neighborhood plan is to work with the residents of Helwijk to determine how we can make the neighborhood natural gas-free. We want to:

  • Reducing CO2 emissions from homes: By insulating our homes, switching to a sustainable heat source, and generating our own energy, we contribute to the fight against climate change and improve air quality in the neighborhood.
  • Reducing energy costs: Making homes more energy-efficient (insulation, efficient heating systems, and on-site energy generation) lowers energy bills.
  • Improving the comfort of our homes: A home that offers a high level of comfort promotes the health of its residents. This includes, among other things, proper ventilation.
  • Future-Proof Housing: By investing now in a natural gas-free future, we ensure that our homes remain comfortable and affordable, even in the future.
