Oude Heijningsedijk, Fijnaart

What's coming up?

The road surface of the Oude Heijningsedijk in Fijnaart is in poor condition. As a result, it does not meet the objectives set by the municipality of Moerdijk. During the reconstruction, the road’s foundation and roadway will be rebuilt. Afterward, the road will once again be clean, intact, and safe.
In addition, residents have requested that speed-reducing measures be installed. In collaboration with residents, through a design group, the type of speed-reducing measures and the locations of the road narrowings were selected.

What is the latest update?

The design for the Oude Heijningsedijk has been finalized. It was presented to residents during an information session on May 7, 2025. The design shows that narrowings and a red bike path will be constructed during the reconstruction. The narrowings will be located at:

  • House Number 33
  • House Number 65
  • House numbers 71–73
  • House numbers 91–93
  • House Number 133

Prior to construction, the temporary barriers will be replaced by permanent lane narrowings that will be installed on the roadway.

Enexis

Enexis has indicated that it needs to replace the cables and pipes on Oude Heijningsedijk. This applies to the entire route. Work on the street can therefore not begin until Enexis has finished.

Enexis is currently working elsewhere in the municipality of Moerdijk. They expect to begin work on the Oude Heijningsedijk once that project is completed. According to their current schedule, they will begin in late March or early April.

As soon as this schedule is finalized, Enexis will provide an update.
