What's coming up?

Standdaarbuiten is home to a sugar warehouse that was in use as such until 2000. Since then, the site has been zoned for and used by businesses up to and including environmental category 2. The project initiator aims to better utilize the potential of this nationally designated historic building and enhance its appeal for the residents of Standdaarbuiten and beyond. Initially, a central component of this plan was to relocate the neighborhood supermarket (Attent Standdaarbuiten) from the Markt to the Sugar Warehouse, but that proved unfeasible. The final construction plan includes a residential complex with 44 apartments, whose central atrium and private outdoor space will be open to the public during the day.

Renovation of the warehouse began in April 2025. The renovation will be completed by the end of 2026. Apartments are still available for sale. For more information, visitthe Suikerentrepot website.
