In order to build a multifunctional facility (MFA) on Grintweg in Willemstad, the soccer facilities of the De Kogelvangers soccer club must be relocated. The soccer club will be relocated to the other side of the road, where soccer fields are already located. This relocation will also allow for the renovation and modernization of the soccer fields and associated facilities.

In order to build a multifunctional facility (MFA) in Willemstad, the soccer facilities must first be relocated to the east side of Grintweg. At the end of 2022, the city council approved the design of the new facility, which will include two natural-grass fields and one artificial-turf field. The city council had already allocated funds in 2022 for the relocation of the fields. At that time, a preparatory grant was also made available to design the new clubhouse, cafeteria, and locker rooms.

In consultation with the association’s board, a design—including a cost estimate—was prepared for the clubhouse. On February 6, 2024, the municipal executive decided to propose to the city council that it approve funding for the construction of the clubhouse. This proposal was deferred at the committee meeting on February 22. Subsequently, work was done to develop several alternative designs. On August 6, the executive committee decided to present the plan to the city council. The plan was discussed by the committee on August 29 and by the city council on September 12. The city council decided to approve funding for the construction of the new clubhouse for V.V. de Kogelvangers. The architect has submitted a final design for the clubhouse. Based on these documents, the BOPA permit has been applied for.

A bidding process was completed, and Maas Jacobs emerged as the winner. The permit has now been granted, and work is scheduled to begin in week 42 of 2027.

The bidding process for the outdoor space is set to begin later this year, and a contractor will be selected in early 2027.
