Major Asphalt Maintenance Work in 2026
The municipality of Moerdijk has approximately 380 kilometers of paved roads. To keep the roads safe and in good condition, we perform maintenance every year. On behalf of the municipality of Moerdijk, contractor Van der Steen will carry out minor pavement maintenance at various locations within the municipality in the fall of 2026.
What are we going to do?
We are repairing damaged sections of the asphalt on various roads. To do this, we remove the old layer of asphalt and apply new asphalt. Where necessary, we also repair the road markings.
How are the construction works affecting you?
To ensure the work is carried out safely, we must temporarily close roads to traffic. When the work begins, we will place signs at the locations where we will be working. Since these closures typically last only a few hours, we will have traffic controllers on site. We ask that you follow the instructions of our staff. In exceptional cases involving a larger work zone, we will set up a detour with signage.
Is your business located directly on the road where we are working? If so, contractor Van der Steen will contact you to discuss the work and access arrangements.
During the construction work, you may experience some inconvenience due to machinery, construction traffic, and noise. We are doing our best to minimize the disruption as much as possible and appreciate your understanding.
