Construction Work in Heijningen
On this page, you'll find a list of all construction projects and scheduled maintenance in Heijningen.
What are we going to do?
On Friesestraat and Deventerstraat, we are replacing the street paving and the sewer connections to the homes.
For every home, we will replace the portion of the service line located on municipal property. We will also install a drain-clearing fitting at no cost. We do not replace the portion of the service line located on private property, such as in yards.
As a result, the connection will be more accessible for inspection and maintenance in the future.
When do we start?
Work will begin on June 29, 2026, and is expected to last until October 5, 2026.
The work will be carried out in phases. Local residents will receive more information in advance about the schedule and the work itself.
How are the construction works affecting you?
During the construction work, you may experience temporary inconveniences due to noise, construction traffic, and work being done on the street. Because we are working in phases, parking spaces may be temporarily unavailable. Homes will remain accessible on foot during the construction work.
We will install temporary barriers where necessary. We are doing our very best to minimize any inconvenience as much as possible.

On behalf of Brabant Water, the contractor is carrying out MVOI work on the water main. You have received an email regarding this. We are sending you this letter because we will begin work in the area where you live on August 10, 2026.
What are we going to do?
- We are replacing the current water main with a new one.
- The work will take place between house numbers 2 through 28 and 3 through 9 on Slobbegorsedijk.
- The work as a whole will take about 2 weeks to complete.
- If your home connection needs to be replaced, we will replace it as well; we will get back to you about this later.
Why are we replacing the pipes?
The water distribution system was largely built in the 1960s and is therefore in need of replacement. Thanks to this replacement, you can always count on fresh tap water in the future.
What does this mean for you?
We’ll do our best to ensure you notice as little as possible of our work. However, we will have to inconvenience you from time to time. When we’re working on your street:
- Are you currently without water? Is a water service interruption necessary? If so, it will take place on weekdays between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. You will be notified in advance.
Possible disturbances in the surrounding area
- There is construction work along the roads listed above.
- There is more construction traffic than you're used to.
- Traffic restrictions will be in effect during the construction work.
- Driveways leading to the homes may be temporarily inaccessible; please park your vehicles elsewhere.
Traffic Measures
During the construction work, traffic restrictions will be in effect in the form of a complete road closure, including a detour. While the work is underway, you may be asked to park your car elsewhere so that we can carry out our work. You will be notified of this in a timely manner.
We understand that this is inconvenient, and we are doing our best to minimize the disruption as much as possible.
