Projects in Klundert
On this page, you'll find a list of all construction projects and scheduled maintenance in Klundert.
On Tuesday, April 7, the Brabantse Delta Water Board will begin construction of a fish passage next to the Tonnekreek pumping station in Klundert. The dike will be fitted with a passageway that includes a fish lift at one end. This fish passage will remove a major barrier for fish, allowing them to swim freely and safely between the Hollands Diep and the waters of Brabant once again.
Temporary Closure of Oostdijk
To ensure the work can be carried out safely, the Oostdijk near the pumping station will be temporarily closed to motorized traffic.
Starting April 14, a detour will be in effect via:
- Oostmiddelweg
- Noordlangeweg
- Tonsedijk
- Buitendijk West
Cyclists and pedestrians can continue to pass through the construction zone via a temporary bike path and do not need to follow a detour. The closure will remain in effect during the construction period, until the summer vacation of 2026. Most of the work is expected to be completed by then.
The work is being carried out by the contractor De Kuiper Infrabouw, on behalf of the Brabantse Delta Water Board.

The Schanspoort Bridge in Klundert will be replaced soon. The bridge is currently closed to traffic due to its condition.
What are we going to do?
The Schanspoort Bridge is being replaced due to wood rot and an insufficient traffic classification. This means that the bridge currently does not have sufficient load-bearing capacity for traffic. The existing wooden bridge will be removed and replaced with a new concrete bridge.

Planning
The work is scheduled to take place from mid-September through the end of November 2026. Before work begins, the contractor will provide nearby residents with more information about the exact schedule and how the work will be carried out.
How does this affect you?
During the construction work, the bridge will be closed to all traffic.
- You cannot use the bridge
- Traffic will be rerouted via Beatrijsweg – Blauwe Sluisdijk – Oosterstraat. The detour is shown in the image below.
- The work zone and the detour will be marked on site.

Emergency and Rescue Services
Emergency and first-response services are being notified of the work.
