Initiative Grant for a Vibrant and Culturally Rich Society

If you organize special projects or activities for specific target groups to further promote sports, physical activity, and cultural participation, and you meet certain conditions, you may be eligible for a “Vital and Culturally Rich Society” Initiative Grant. According to the bylaws, these special projects or activities must not be part of your organization’s regular activities.

The special projects or activities must be organized for individuals from a specific target group:

  • Youth (ages 2–18)
  • Retirees
  • People with disabilities

Requests

The application must include the following information:

  • Action Plan
  • Activity Budget

If you meet the requirements, you can submit an application for a community initiative. You can find the application form on the “Submit Your Community Initiative” page.

When you apply for a grant, we enter into an agreement with you. You will receive a financial contribution:

  • We will receive a report with a photo of the event.
  • Will we be mentioned in communications related to the event?
  • Can an evaluation be conducted regarding the effective use of the grant received?
  • Additional obligations may be imposed on the grant recipient.

Terms and Conditions

  • The grant must be applied for by a legal entity (association or foundation).
  • The activity is a collaboration between various organizations (sports and cultural associations, schools, etc.).
  • The activity is aimed at:
    1. Introducing one or more of the specific target groups to sports and/or culture, and/or:
    2. Guiding one or more specific target groups to a sports or cultural organization and/or:
    3. Improving the quality of existing sports or cultural programs for specific target groups so that sports and/or culture can be practiced at a higher level, and/or:
    4. Lowering the barrier to participating in sports for specific target groups.
  • The activity is not for-profit.
  • Applications may be submitted throughout the year.
  • The application must be submitted no later than 8 weeks before the start of the activity. The application must be complete at that time.

The applicant must provide a breakdown of the actual costs incurred for the eligible expenses.

Grant Amount

  1. The subsidy cap is set annually by the city council.
  2. The grant covers up to 50% of the activity's costs.
  3. Once the grant cap is reached, the order in which applications are received by the municipality is binding.
