Blue Zone (Businesses)
In Zevenbergen, Klundert, and Willemstad, certain (downtown) areas have been designated as blue zones. You can recognize these areas by the “Blue Zone” signs and the blue stripes on the parking spaces.

The options vary by blue zone, specifically:
- Zevenbergen: Businesses in Zevenbergen cannot apply for an exemption
- Klundert: Businesses in Klundert cannot apply for an exemption
- Willemstad: Businesses in Willemstad may apply for one exemption in the blue zone. However, that exemption must be necessary for business operations. The business must be located within the blue zone.
You can apply for an exemption at the town hall reception desk or through the “Willemstad Parking Disc Zone Exemption” product.
If your application is approved, you will receive an exemption letter and a permit. The permit shows your license plate number and the area where the exemption is valid. You must place the permit in a clearly visible spot behind the windshield while parking. You should keep the exemption letter in a safe place, but it does not need to be in the car. This is because the letter is the actual exemption, while the permit is proof that you have an exemption. By placing the permit in a clearly visible spot, enforcement officers will not make a mistake.
With your exemption, you may park in the parking spaces within the blue zone indicated on your permit. In blue zones, you may only park in designated parking spaces. Parallel parking is only allowed in areas marked with a blue line. You are not permitted to park outside of designated spaces or in areas not marked with blue lines. You may still receive a ticket for doing so.
No, that is not possible. In Zevenbergen and Klundert, you cannot apply for exemptions. In Willemstad, a maximum of one exemption per business will be granted if the business can demonstrate that an exemption is necessary for its operations.
You must report any changes to your business that affect your exemption to the municipality of Moerdijk. If your business moves to a location within the same blue zone, you may keep the exemption. If your business moves to a location outside the blue zone, the exemption will expire.
PLEASE NOTE:Several times a year, we check with the RDW (in accordance with privacy laws) to verify whether the vehicle for which an exemption has been granted is still registered at the company’s address within the blue zone. If this is not the case, we will terminate the exemption, and you run the risk of receiving a ticket if you park in the blue zone anyway.

If you want an exemption from the blue zone for your new vehicle, the exemption for your old vehicle will expire. If you keep both vehicles, you can choose which one to get an exemption for. You must then park the other vehicle outside the blue zone.

No temporary exemptions are issued for temporary (rental) vehicles owned by companies. In that case, you may park outside the blue zone.
For the blue zone in Zevenbergen and the blue zone in Willemstad, you can apply for a temporary exemption to carry out work. This exemption is valid for one month.
However, you must be able to demonstrate that the work can only be performed if the vehicle is parked in the blue zone for more than 2 hours.
You can apply for a temporary exemption for construction work via “Product Exemption: Blue Zone, Zevenbergen City Center” or “Product Exemption: Parking Disc Zone, Willemstad.”
