Independent assistance from professionals

They support you so that you can make informed decisions about your own care or that of your loved one. The support worker works with you and your family and friends to determine what you can do on your own and where you need help.

The independent client advocate will help you with:

  • clarifying the laws, regulations, and procedures you will encounter
  • formulating your questions and requests
  • providing support during a kitchen-table discussion, a conversation with a youth services professional, or a meeting with a client manager from the employment center
  • assessing whether important conversations went as planned
  • working with you to find suitable solutions for care or support in your neighborhood
  • developing a personal plan and making one's own choices
  • referring you to the appropriate authorities if you are dissatisfied with something
  • an application under the Long-Term Care Act (Wlz)

You can receive support in areas such as:

  • care, assistive devices, and home modifications
  • Support and Day Programs
  • Work and Income
  • Support services for your child.

Independent Client Support Provided by MEE

Client support is generally short-term. The exact duration depends on your questions and situation. If you need support for a longer period,the client support specialistwill help you apply for it.
