Powerport

The Moerdijk Powerport region is the area stretching from the Moerdijk port and industrial complex to the Amer power plant in Geertruidenberg. Approximately 700 hectares of space must be identified here to support the national energy transition and make industry circular and sustainable. This was decided by the national government, the province, and the municipalities during the Administrative Consultation on the Living Environment on June 11, 2025. The authorities have agreed to make better use of the space available in existing industrial parks. However, there is not enough space there. Therefore, the Moerdijk port and industrial area and the Amer site must expand. This requires a careful balancing of all interests.
