Community Police Officers/Special Enforcement Officers in Fijnaart:

Bob and Sheerman introduced themselves. They gave a brief presentation about their responsibilities and area of expertise, focusing on general information about what residents can do in certain situations, where they can file reports, and how they can contribute to their own safety.

In addition, Rylana talks a bit about the Wijk GGZ and brings up topics that will be discussed in more detail at the Dorpstafel meeting on November 17.

There are flyers on the table with a QR code you can use to file a report if necessary.

Feedback on Projects and Working Groups

Migrant Workers

At the last meeting, the municipality’s consultant explained the housing and enforcement plans.

  • Molenstraat 17, Fijnaart. This concerns the enforcement of regulations regarding migrant workers. The goal is to gain a better understanding of the supply chain involving migrant workers. By “supply chain,” we mean housing providers, employers, and staffing agencies, as well as insight into where migrant workers live and work.

For privacy reasons, the municipality does not provide information about enforcement activities. You can find more information about labor migration on the municipality’s website:Frequently Asked Questions About Promising Initiatives for Housing Labor Migrants | Municipality of Moerdijk

Residents can report incidents of subversion via:Subversion, fraud, crime, abuse, or suspected cases thereof – Municipality of Moerdijk

Good Landlord Practices Hotline:Good Landlord Practices Act Hotline – Municipality of Moerdijk

These two reporting hotlines will also be listed shortly in the new website content on labor migration.

  • Oude Molensedijk housing for migrant workers. The municipality is still in discussions with the project organizers regarding this matter. To facilitate housing initiatives, various studies are being conducted in addition to a series of discussions.

Flexible Housing

Recently, WIJK has commissioned several studies regarding the development of temporary housing on Appelaarseweg. On July 1, a community engagement event was held for local residents and interested parties to share information about the plan. The event was well attended. WIJK has prepared a report on this event and is sharing it on its website:Moerdijk | Exceptionally Affordable Housing.

Based on information the municipality receives from developer WIJK, the municipality assesses whether the plan is expected to be feasible. To this end, the municipality prepares a Feasibility Document. The city council will make a decision regarding this Feasibility Document and determine whether the design for this development can be further elaborated—including any additional studies—and whether the necessary procedure (application for an environmental permit) can be initiated. As soon as more information becomes available regarding these steps, local residents, stakeholders, and interested parties will be notified.

Skate Park and Fishing Pier

Before the summer break, the municipal executive decided to postpone its decision on the recommendation regarding the skate park in Fijnaart. After a few minor adjustments, the proposal will be resubmitted to the municipal executive for review after the summer break. The same applies to the fishing spot, including the two parking spaces for people with disabilities. As soon as there is more clarity on this matter, an update will be provided.

OKO: Growing Up in a Promising Environment

Before the summer break, a group of parents got together to discuss how to organize drop-in and activity nights for the youth. The idea is to start with one fun activity per month. The parents are still looking for others who are interested in helping with the organization and providing support on the day of the event. In addition, discussions have taken place with Optisport, the current operators of De Parel. They are open to setting up a space for the youth. Here, too, the parents could use some help to further develop this initiative.

OKO meeting on October 29. Will you sign up, too?

Climate

  • Clean Up Day, September 19, 2026. Will you come help keep Fijnaart clean?
  • Fijnaart Bloeit, the Grutto and Eksterstraat project, is being handled by the municipality.
  • The fair was a success.

Energy Transition, October 27, 2026, Fendertse Hoeve in Fijnaart; starts at 7:30 p.m.

Presentation by Klaas van Veen

  • The poplars on Kadedijk are in survival mode. Poplars are known to suffer from “summer branch drop.” These are not safe trees.
  • Fire lanes. Residents and/or landlords are responsible for keeping these clear for safety reasons. They are responsible for this.
  • Grant/Start-up Support Initiative for Resident-Led Initiatives.
  • Improved safety for residents. See the municipality's website.
  • Grass is growing through the pavement. You can report this using the “zo gemeld” app.
  • Is the hedge too wide? The owner of the hedge is required to trim it back to the property line. The hedge must not grow over the sidewalk. Use the “zo gemeld” app.
  • Duo Bike. Dorpstafel intends to participate in the Fenderts Hof Duo Bike initiative. The bike can be purchased with a grant from the municipality of Moerdijk. Maintenance and insurance cost €500 per year. Sponsors are being sought to cover maintenance and insurance costs.

Any Other Business

  • Update on the Town Center Vision on November 17 during the Village Roundtable
  • Accessibility in Moerdijk—any updates? Angelic: The municipality is still working on it
