Zevenbergen is surrounded by nature, making it ideal for peaceful bike rides and hikes. The name Zevenbergen likely comes from the hills that were already there during Roman times and served as a natural defense back then—though there were probably not seven of them.
The Willem van Strijen Local History Society Museum is housed in an 18th-century “inner farm.” Inside the museum, you’ll find a small village store from 1900, a room with a box bed, a large kitchen-diner where all kinds of old household items are on display, and a cellar where you can view artifacts from excavations at Zevenbergen Castle and Fort Noordam.
