June 30: Open House on Energy Projects and Powerport

A meeting about various energy projects and Powerport will be held at the town hall in Zevenbergen on Tuesday evening, June 30. The event is open to the public starting at 7:00 p.m. and will end at 9:00 p.m.

During the open house, you can ask questions about, among other things, the energy projects involving the Port of Moerdijk high-voltage substation and the future onshore connection for offshore wind power. Information will also be provided on the current status following the most recent Powerport administrative meeting on June 29.

Energy Projects

The plans are currently available for public review for the future Offshore Wind Landfall Connections (VAWOZ; available for review through Thursday, July 2; see news article) and for the new Port of Moerdijk high-voltage substation (available for review through Friday, July 10; see news article). During the public information evening, you can receive assistance if you wish to submit a statement of opinion. The event will also feature information about other energy projects in the region, such as the Southwest Netherlands hydrogen network and the 380 kV high-voltage transmission line between Geertruidenberg and Krimpen aan den IJssel or Crayestein.

Powerport

On June 29, the national government, the province, and the municipality will discuss what steps are needed in the coming months to reach a decision on the size of Powerport and its preferred location. They will provide an update on the current status during the public information session on June 30.
