Moerdijk Municipality Insulation Grant
Is your home poorly insulated, and are you planning to insulate it (or have it insulated)? Or did you insulate your home after January 1, 2024? If so, you may be eligible for an insulation subsidy. On this page, you can read about the eligibility requirements and how to apply for the subsidy.
Are you having trouble applying for the subsidy? If so, please email the Energy Help Desk at energieloket@moerdijk.nl (opens in a new tab) or call 14 0168 and ask for the Energy Help Desk.
Step-by-Step Guide to the Insulation Grant
You can apply for an insulation grant if:
- You own the home and live there yourself.
- The home is not part of a homeowners' association.
- The WOZ value as of January 1, 2024, was less than €477,000.
- The house was built before 1993 and is poorly insulated.
Does your home have an energy efficiency rating of D, E, F, or G?
If so, your home meets this requirement, and you can proceed to step 3.
Does your home not have a valid energy label?
Check to see if your home has at least two poorly insulated sections.
There are two ways to do this:
Option 1: Check it yourself
- Roof insulation less than 9 cm or no insulation.
- No attic or loft floor insulation.
- No cavity wall insulation, false wall, or exterior wall insulation.
- Floor insulation less than 5 cm thick or no floor insulation.
- Single-pane glass, old double-pane glass, or high-efficiency glass (you can find out what type of glass you have from a building inspection report)
Option 2: Have an energy coach take a look
Through Energiek Moerdijk, you can have an independent energy coach come to your home to assess your situation. The energy coach will work with you to determine whether at least two parts of your home are inadequately insulated and will help you decide what steps you can take. You can schedule an appointment with an energy coach by entering your ZIP code and house number HERE and filling out your information under “Energy Coach at Home.”

Only in combination with insulation
The insulation measures must meet the same requirements as those for the national ISDE subsidy (opens in a new tab). These include requirements for the insulation value (Rd or U-value) and the minimum area to be insulated.
- Are you unsure whether your measure meets the requirements? Check with your contractor, insulation company, or contact us via the contact form. (opens in a new tab)
If necessary, have an insulation company provide you with a quote.
Municipal insulation subsidy:
WOZ value between €400,000 and €477,000
- You can receive a maximum subsidy of €1,250 (including a €250 bonus for using natural insulation materials)
WOZ value of €400,000 or less
- You can receive a maximum subsidy of €2,250 (up to €1,000 per type of insulation measure, including a one-time biobased bonus of 250 euros when using natural insulation materials).
Are you having the work done by a company?
- In that case, the subsidy will cover up to 70% of the costs. Since you can also apply for the national ISDE subsidy in addition to the municipal subsidy
Do you perform the work yourself?
- In that case, you will be reimbursed 100% of the material costs (up to a maximum of €1,000 per measure)
If you choose biobased insulation material, the subsidy will be increased by a one-time amount of €250. These are environmentally friendly materials such as hemp, flax, cellulose, sheep’s wool, cork, or straw.
This bonus applies only to measures taken on or after November 2025 that are verifiably biobased according to the ISDE notification code list.
Using the calculator below, you can easily determine how much municipal and state insulation subsidy you are eligible to receive.
If you have applied for a grant and meet the eligibility requirements, the municipality will set aside a certain amount for you. You can now request quotes or get started on your own.
Please note: Once the grant has been awarded, you have 4 months to have the measures implemented and to apply for final approval of the grant. Upon request, you may extend this period once by 3 months.
Request Quotes
With the “Let Us Do It” voucher, you hire a company (opens in a new tab) thatworks with the municipality, and the subsidy is applied immediately. The company ensures that the correct materials are used.
Get Started on Your Own
With the "Money Back" voucher, you will receive the subsidy after you have demonstrated that the work was completed in accordance with the terms and conditions.
If you're doing the work yourself, the grant applies only to:
- approved insulation material;
- vapor barrier;
- building materials, such as (gypsum) boards and a framework to hold the insulation material in place.
You will only receive a subsidy if the insulation material (or high-efficiency glass) is included in the list of approved materials by registration code. Be sure to check this before purchasing the material. You can do so using the registration code and the insulation value. The list of approved materials is availableon the website of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (opens in a new tab). If the material is not on the list, you will not receive a subsidy from the municipality.

Cash out immediately
If the insulation work has already been completed (after January 1, 2024), you can redeem the Cash Back voucher immediately and submit the supporting documentation.
If you meet the eligibility requirements, you can apply for the grant below. After submitting your application, you will have 6 months to implement the measures (or have them implemented) and account for the grant.
Are you having an affiliated company carry out the work? If so, select "Have it done."
Are you going to do the work yourself, or are you choosing a company that isn't a member? If so, opt for a refund.
Are you having trouble figuring it out on your own? You can get help with your application by phone or email. To do so, call 14 0168 and ask for the energy help desk. Or send an email to: energieloket@moerdijk.nl (opens in a new tab).
Are you using the Cash Back Voucher? If so, it’s important that you take photos before, during, and after the work is completed to ensure everything is documented. You’ll need to submit these photos as proof. The photos don’t need to show people; the important thing is that it’s clear the work was done at your home.
If you’re doing the work yourself, check out the helpful DIY videoson the Verbeter Je Huis website (opens in a new tab). Even if you’re doing the work yourself, it’s important to take photos before, during, and after the project.
If you choose the “Let Us Do It” voucher, the company will handle all the paperwork for the subsidy. If you’ve chosen the cash-back voucher, you’ll need to provide proof of the measures yourself. Sometimes a random inspection is conducted at the residence. In that case, you’ll receive a proof-of-compliance form via email that you can fill out with photos, an invoice, and a reference code.
Once the burden of proof form has been completed (either by you or, if you had the company do it, via a "let the company handle it" form), you will receive an email stating whether your application has been approved or rejected. If approved, the grant amount will be deposited into your account within an average of 2 weeks. If rejected, the email will specify what needs to be corrected in order to obtain approval.
In addition to insulation grants, there are also attractive loans available for sustainability measures, including insulation projects. For example, owner-occupiers with a combined household income of less than €60,000 can borrow money at 0% interest fromthe National Heat Fund (opens in a new tab). In addition, as a municipality, we offer ourown incentive loan (opens in a new tab)at 1.7% interest.
National ISDE Insulation Subsidy
In addition to the grants and initiatives offered by the municipality of Moerdijk, there are national and, in some cases, provincial grants. You can often combine these programs with the Moerdijk grants; the terms and conditions outline the requirements you must meet.
Moerdijk Municipality Climate Grant
Heat waves, longer periods of drought, and downpours: climate change is causing us to face these conditions more and more often. Through this grant program, the municipality of Moerdijk is helping residents, homeowners’ associations, and businesses adapt their gardens and roofs to the changing climate. Subsidies can be requested for, among other things, green roofs, rain barrels (and other water reservoirs), and measures that involve replacing pavers with greenery or permeable paving.
A loan to make your home more sustainable
Would you like to insulate your home or take other energy-saving measures, but don’t have enough savings? A loan can help. You’ll pay back the costs in installments. These measures will help you save on your energy bill.
