Helwijk: Natural Gas-Free

The Netherlands is phasing out natural gas. The Dutch government has agreed that by 2050, all homes must be “off gas.” That means we need to start now. That’s why, in the coming years, municipalities and landlords across the Netherlands will work with residents to explore how homes in a neighborhood—or even an entire village—can be heated in a different way. This will allow us to live pleasantly and comfortably, both now and in the future. In 2024, the municipality of Moerdijk launched this initiative in Helwijk.
