A Greener Moerdijk

Moerdijk is going green! That's because a green village or city is better equipped to withstand extreme weather, such as downpours and heat waves. We're basing our approach on the 3-30-300 rule.

  • Everyone can see three notable trees from their home.
  • The neighborhood has 30% tree cover, which provides some shade in public spaces.
  • The distance to a park or green space where you can relax and/or play is no more than 300 meters.

On this page, you can read about the greening plans for each city or town, see how your street or neighborhood scores based on the 3-30-300 rule, find out how you can get involved in greening efforts, and learn how to get started at home (possibly with a grant).

For each municipality, you will also find an overview of completed greening projects and the projects that will be developed in the coming years.
